Example to Writing Your First Email Message

As first impression is very important in marketing, your first email to your opt-in list is very important. Your first email will be the first opportunity to connect with your readers in your list. They will guide you from your first email, so your first email should always be good. Sound friend and welcome them to your list.

Usually, we managed our email marketing campaign with an auto responder (e.g. AWeber), in which we will schedule email messages beforehand. Usually, an automatic message will be sent immediately after your reader opts-in. You then have to follow on with subsequent email messages on a regular basis to establish credibility and trust with your list.

One word of caution is to not send a sales page of an e-book with the intention of selling them something on your first email. 90% of the time, they will unsubscribe almost immediately. I usually thank them on my first email and introduce myself and talk a little about my background. I will also give them free useful information they are looking for!

Here is an example of the email that I send:

Hi (name of recipient)

Thank you for your interest in my site and really appreciate your opting-in into my list.

You can download your report in PDF format:

We hope you will benefit from this (whatever benefit you offered)

I hope to get connected with you and get to really know more about you in time to come, and I will share more tips and secrets with you.

Cheers!
